Today began my free weekend eBook advertising campaign. To say that it has been (so far) a success is putting it mildly. People asked me, “Why make it free?” – “What’s the benefit?”
Well first of all, I wanted to see how my Facebook campaign was working. Had I connected with enough people to make an impact? Would 600 likes on my page and a paid marketing strategy make any real effect on my ability to promote my book? Well, the answer is a resounding yes.
As it stands, at 21:00 on Saturday, my results speak for themselves.
On Amazon USA, total downloads = 208
Best Sellers Rank: #1,507 Free in Kindle Store
#5 in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Literature & Fiction > Genre Fiction > Mystery & Thrillers > Mystery > British Detectives
#22 in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Literature & Fiction > Genre Fiction > Mystery & Thrillers > Crime
On Amazon UK, total downloads = 59
Bestsellers Rank: #611 Free in Kindle Store
#4 in Kindle Store > Books > Fiction > Crime, Thrillers & Mystery > Mystery > British Detectives
I also have 3 downloads on Amazon Germany.
So, 270 versions of my book have been downloaded on Kindle devices around the world. How AMAZING is that?? I thought I might see 100 at the most.
I’m also featured in this weeks “All Mystery eNewsletter” which is a sustained weekly campaign. You can visit them at this address: eNewsletter
I have one more day to go, but given these results, I’m excited by the next stage of my promotion. My next hope is that some of these people actually take the time to write a review on Amazon. It’s harder to convince people to do this, than to actually purchase the book!
